Fast and Furious is about to come to an end
Before you go and feel too sad about the Fast & Furious delay, Universal Pictures’ new premiere date for the upcoming film isn’t too far. Instead of launching on April 10, 2023, Fast & Furious will arrive a little over a month later on May 19, 2023. The movie will replace an “untitled event” film on Universal’s schedule. Universal did not give any reason why it decided to push Fast & Furious 10 back by more than a month, but we theorize that the studio might be looking to take advantage of the Memorial Day weekend. Regardless of Universal’s reason, the re-scheduling makes for an interesting coincidence for Vin Diesel; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will come out on May 5, 2023. If things go well, Diesel might be one of the few actors in Hollywood (if not the only one) to star in two billion-dollar movies that premiered in the same month. As for Fast & Furious’ original slate, Universal decided to give the slot to an unannounced Dreamworks Animation film. So far, there’s no available information yet about the plot for Fast & Furious 10. However, we do know that most if not all the cast members from F9 are going to come back to reprise their roles. We’re betting that we haven’t seen the last of John Cena’s Jakob Territo and Charlize Theron’s Cipher as well. Meanwhile, the verdict is still out on Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. The Rock confirmed earlier this year that he’s not coming back for the final two Fast & Furious films. But, this was before Diesel’s very public plea asking him to “rise to the occasion”. In other Vin Diesel news, the face of Fast & Furious recently teased exciting news about another film franchise that he is a part of, Riddick. His latest Riddick tease comes months after he talked about a potential new Riddick sequel and video game to boot.
