Given the film’s success, Marvel Studios and Sony (which still owns the rights to the character) have reportedly struck a new deal with actor Tom Holland for a new Spider-Man trilogy. According to the information, the deal also includes his participation in three big MCU projects. Multiple sources have reported that the deal has been finalized for Holland to return as Peter Parker. Insider Jeff Sneider revealed on The Hot Mic with Jeff Sneider and John Rocha podcast that the actor was “closed a deal” for a Spider-Man 4 movie. Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal have previously confirmed that Marvel and Sony have been actively talking about the sequel to No Way Home. “Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about — yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home. That will not be occurring this time,” Feige revealed. Other sources on Twitter have reported that the deal included a trilogy along with Spider-Man’s participation in the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars films.

(@AlexFromCC) November 9, 2022 Producer Amy Pascal previously confirmed that Marvel and Sony were looking at a new trilogy. “We are getting ready to make the next Spider-Man movie with Tom Holland and Marvel. We’re thinking of this as three films, and now we’re going to go onto the next three. This is not the last of our MCU movies,” the producer said. Marvel and Sony agreed to a deal in 2015 to bring Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. At the time, the agreement included only five films, which later turned out to be Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, and finally, Avengers: Endgame. After the five-film deal, Sony and Marvel renegotiated for a third film which became Spider-Man: No Way Home. The renegotiated cooperation between Sony and Marvel included another Spider-Man project. It could possibly see the return of the older versions of Spider-Man to the MCU’s Multiverse. Interestingly, Sony is building its own Spider-verse. The company owns the rights to Venom and Morbius and will soon be adding Kraven the Hunter to the list. The list of movies coming to Sony’s Spider-Man Universe includes El Muerto, and Madame Web along with a sequel to Venom: Let There be Carnage. The end-credits scene of Spider-Man: No Way Home hinted at the possibility of Venom and the other Sony Spider-Man Universe characters crossing over to the MCU. Fans would surely be excited to see Peter Parker team up with Eddie Brock and face off against the likes of Kraven and Carnage. The untitled Spider-Man 4 movie is slated to hit theaters on July 12, 2024. Things may have changed after Marvel delayed several films for Phase 5.
