CD Projekt RED confirmed last year that the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 won’t hit their intended deadline, along with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The controversial Polish studio cited needing more time to port both games to next-gen consoles. Since then, we haven’t heard much about the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X versions of Cyberpunk 2077 - until now. According to PlayStation Game Size, it has come across data from the backend of the PlayStation Store’s database suggesting that Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to the PS5 sometime in mid-February to early March. In addition to a release window, the same user dropped a photo that could serve as the cover art for Cyberpunk 2077 once it heads over to the PS5.

Having said that, the release date does line up with what we know about Cyberpunk 2077 on the Xbox Series S/X and the PS5. Not to mention, several earlier leaks, including a recent update, suggest that something big is coming for Cyberpunk 2077 soon. If nothing else, it wouldn’t hurt to keep a close eye on Cyberpunk 2077 in the next few weeks. After several years of extreme marketing, Cyberpunk 2077 was released in late 2020 only to become the poster child for overhyped games. The game’s journey to becoming CD Projekt RED’s next big thing after The Witcher came to a screeching halt after Microsoft and Sony banned the game from their respective digital platforms. Although recent developments on Steam suggest that Cyberpunk 2077 is starting to change public perception, it still has a long way to go to live up to its potential. It remains to be seen if a next-gen update is enough to bring more people to Cyberpunk 2077 or if it’s going to sour its reputation even further. For now, all fans can do is to wait for CD Projekt RED to announce more details about the future of Cyberpunk 2077.
