After multiple teasers and updates via the Vought News Network, Prime Video reunited the gang for what’s sure to be another gore-filled outing. In the trailer, we see Antony Starr’s Homelander try his best to do damage control following the events of Season 2. Only time will tell if the press tour will help his reputation. In the meantime, Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher just got superpowers. Finally, the trailer shows more of Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy. Judging from the looks of it, The Boys Season 3 will deviate from the source material. In the graphic novel series by Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson, Billy, and Jack Quaid’s Hughie Campbell, as well as the rest of the titular group and others, all received superpowers for keeps after taking Compound V. However, the compound will only grant these abilities for a while, albeit the effect should be no less devastating. Now that Billy can go toe-to-toe with the Supes, expect The Boys’ leader to leave a path of carnage and destruction as he soldiers on in his quest for vengeance. Having said that, the trailer does a great job of setting the tone for the latest season of The Boys. After teasers back in January and March, The Boys’ official Twitter account promised last Friday that the first trailer would arrive on May 16. After delivering on its promise, fans can barely contain their excitement for what has to be The Boys’ bravest season yet as it continues to push the boundaries of what competing shows could only dream of doing. The first three episodes of The Boys Season 3 will hit Prime Video on Friday, June 3, while the rest will come out weekly every Friday after until the season finale on July 8. Speaking of The Boys, Karl Urban just teased that Prime Video already has its eyes set on a filming date for Season 4. Most likely, we’ll hear more about The Boys’ renewal close to the premiere or after the third season finishes airing.
