Is the Samsung Gaming Hub a game-changer?

As announced at CES 2022, Samsung is launching a new gaming central hub that combines multiple cloud gaming services like GeForce Now and Google Stadia under one roof. This will make it more convenient for users to access cloud services. According to Samsung, the tech company plans to launch the service at an undetermined date this year. Once launched, owners of certain smart TVs can access the Samsung Gaming Hub by pressing the “gaming” button. Afterward, players can check out everything from their most recently played video games to the most popular titles as well as access several different cloud gaming services under one universal app. At the moment, Samsung has confirmed its partnerships with GeForce Now, Google Stadia, and Utomik. The latter is an indie subscription service that focuses on small-time titles such as those published by Raw Fury and THQ Nordic. But, Samsung clarifies that it is working on partnering with other cloud streaming services. One of the more interesting features of the platform is the marketplace. Players can use this to buy games that they can then launch on their TVs. In addition to video games, the Samsung Gaming Hub comes with a handful of useful features. For example, Samsung explained that the platform will integrate YouTube Gaming at launch. This will allow players to watch content creators with ease. On top of this, Samsung confirmed that the Samsung Gaming Hub will pair with controllers easily. Unfortunately, Samsung did not clarify which controllers will be compatible with the Samsung Gaming Hub. We like the idea behind the Samsung Gaming Hub, but we’re not sold just yet. We’re interested to find out how Samsung executes its plans. In particular, if Samsung can secure partnerships with other cloud streaming services. In an ideal world, Samsung can get both Microsoft (Xbox Game Pass) and PlayStation (PSNow) on board. If this happens, Samsung Gaming Hub might just become the go-to all-in-one cloud gaming solution for gamers all across the world.
