The trailer, which has since been deleted by the original uploader, contains three minutes of gameplay. It starts off with the player character nimbly navigating across the Great Wall of China in the midst of an ongoing battle. A closer look at the user interface, graphics, as well as gameplay, suggest this is more like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. Interestingly enough, the trailer isn’t fully voiced. Of course, since this is likely an early build, we can assume that the final game will feature voice acting, similar to recent installments. In addition, the gameplay footage is likely from the early parts of the in-development game.
Ultimately, what stood out from the trailer is the graphics. Many are already comparing it to a recent mainline installment, specifically, Valhalla. Some theorize Ubisoft is using “Jade” to tide over the fans of the franchise that actually preferred the gameplay of the more recent outings as opposed to the stealth-oriented approach. Assassin’s Creed Mirage will take the series back to its roots, so this still-untitled mobile game could cater to certain demographics within the Assassin’s Creed franchise. If that’s the case and Mirage isn’t as well-received as Ubisoft is hoping, a PC port of “Jade” could come swooping in to save the day. Of course, this is all speculation. Not to mention, we have to remember this is bound to iOS and Android platforms. We should try to temper our expectations, especially since it could be full of monetization. Having said that, we’re hoping “Jade” is further along than expected and will be out by next year. Speaking of Assassin’s Creed, Ubisoft recently released “The Last Chapter” DLC for Valhalla. It’s free to download for anyone who already owns a copy of the game. Finally, Ubisoft is working on more Assassin’s Creed projects headed to conventional platforms like “Hexe”, “Red”, and Infinity, as well as one more in collaboration with Netflix.
