So far, the series has taken gamers on a wild ride through the streets of Colorado, France, Australia, and Great Britain. Now, the latest installment in the racing sim series is set to take place in Mexico. We’ve known about Forza Horizon 5’s setting for a while. However, we didn’t really have an idea of just how large the map is - until now.
Here’s your first look at Mexico in Forza Horizon 5
Playground Games’ lengthy video comes just a few months after Forza Horizon 5 was officially announced at E3 2021 and weeks after the studio revealed the different biomes. Speaking of, the said video sees the team behind the game talk about some of their favorite areas in Forza Horizon 5. We also learned just how much larger Forza Horizon 5 is compared to previous entries and that the 2020 Toyota Supra GR will be available in the game on Day 1. Case in point, Forza Horizon 5 will feature the longest highway in the series. It’s a long stretch of road that goes from the bottom left of the game’s map to the top right.
— Forza Horizon (@ForzaHorizon) August 9, 2021 It’s worth noting that this is just the Summer version of the Forza Horizon 5. We still have the Spring, Fall, and Winter versions of the map to look forward to. The Forza Horizon games are known for having dynamic seasons, which helps make the games more immersive. Forza Horizon 4 is widely considered one of the best racing games of all time. In general, many hardcore racing fans consider the spin-off series as superior to the original, albeit not by much. The two Forza games offer different takes on the racing sim genre. The Forza Motorsport games are more geared towards providing a professional-style track racing experience. In comparison, the Forza Horizon games are more casual and borderline arcade-like, taking place in open-world settings. With that said, it appears that Forza Horizon 5 will exceed its predecessor by a large margin, and has the potential to be the series’ best outing yet.
