Halo Infinite’s Grappleshot is heaven-sent for high-skill players
The Grappleshot is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it’s a useful gadget that lets creative players traverse the map with ease. On the other hand, players who aren’t used to having the maneuverability that it affords will often find themselves in a sticky situation, more often than not. However, if it’s in the right hands, the Grappleshot makes for an awesome tool for viral montages. Case in point, this short clip from Reddit user u/BossHawgKing.
One of the things that helps balance the Grappleshot is that it only comes with three shots. This means that you can’t just fly around the map for as long as you wish. But, this didn’t stop u/BossHawgKing from taking full advantage of Halo Infinite’s newest gadget. For his first shot, the player attached himself to a huge rock and hurls himself across the map to get close enough to an enemy to secure a melee kill. After this, he latches on to an oncoming Warthog to hijack the vehicle and kill the driver. Finally, u/BossHawgKing saves the best for the last as he drives the Warthog off a clip, taking the enemy gunner out as well. What makes this final sequence so impressive is that u/BossHawgKing uses his final Grappleshot ammo just in time to save himself from an untimely death. It will be interesting to see how 343 Industries will optimize the Grappleshot in the future. These types of clips are proof of how overpowered this power item can be if used the right way. Of course, not all players have the necessary combination of skill and creativity to pull this stuff off routinely, so 343 probably won’t have to worry about everyone doing these kinds of stunts. Of course, this was probably expected as well. Earlier this year, even way before Halo Infinite was released, those who participated in the game’s technical test were already looking for ways to use the Grappleshot. In other Halo Infinite news, one player just showed how powerful the game’s S7 Sniper Rifle is by taking down 23 other players with just one shot. Xbox also confirmed that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will get bonuses in Halo Infinite every month. Finally, moderators locked down a Halo subreddit over the past weekend due to toxicity.
