All the visual details in Cyberpunk 2077 do come at a premium though, as it’s easily one of the most demanding titles on PC to date. Even the newest GPUs are still working hard to give players a visually immersive experience in Night City. Now, Cyberpunk 2077 is about to get prettier. According to CD Projekt RED, Patch 1.61 adds support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 2.1 which helps improve performance while maintaining visual quality. FSR is AMD’s answer to Nvidia’s DLSS. Both technologies use AI to upscale resolution allowing players to have better framerates and higher graphics settings. The main difference is that FSR runs on most GPUs while Nvidia’s DLSS is only available for newer RTX cards. FSR works by allowing the game to render graphics at a lower resolution, which helps boost framerates. The technology then upscales the resolution making it visually similar to how the game would look like if it was rendered using native resolution. On top of the graphical improvements, patch 1.61 deploys roughly around 50 bug fixes and addresses gameplay issues with Cyberpunk 2077. One visual update gives Night City citizens umbrellas of various colors and shapes. In the same update, CDPR addressed one glitch when cars are bumped and another where V suffers a wardrobe malfunction. The studio has also deployed a fix for players that sometimes get stuck in quests. Finally, CDPR fine-tuned cross-platform saves from Xbox One allowing players to transfer saves to PS4 and PS5. Cyberpunk has seen a massive resurgence in its player base in recent months. The game has reached a milestone, becoming one of the most popular single-player games on the Steam Charts and seeing a record number of players. The game had a disastrous launch with Cyberpunk 2077 having so many game-breaking that left it unplayable until patches were released. Thankfully, CD Projekt Red has resolved most of the issues with the game and players can now enjoy the game as it was hyped to be at launch. CD Projekt Red is also working on the Phantom Liberty expansion of Cyberpunk 2077. There are also reports that the studio is developing a sequel for the action RPG along with several other projects set in the Cyberpunk universe.
