Months after rumors suggested that it was only a matter of time before Mediatonic made the hit bumble royale title available on Xbox, one of the game’s lead designers has now confirmed the same via the Xbox Newswire. In the same post, Joe Walsh confirmed that Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is headed to the Xbox Series S and X, as well as the Xbox One and X, this summer. This puts its release date just barely under a year before Mediatonic first release the game on the PS4. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not this move is a case of “too much, too little, too late”. Fall Guys was first released for Microsoft Windows PCs via Steam, as well as the PlayStation 4 back in August 2020. The decision to release it to the latter console as a PlayStation Plus freebie played a huge part in making it a viral hit. However, in recent months, the playerbase has dwindled, with many players moving on to other trendy titles like Among Us and Valheim. Now that it’ll be available on more platforms, including the Nintendo Switch, the game might take off once again. Of course, that’s all speculation at this point – unlike with the PlayStation 4, Fall Guys won’t be available for free on any one of the Xbox consoles via the Xbox Game pass, nor will it be a free-to-play title for the Nintendo Switch. So far, there’s no exact date when exactly Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout will release during the summer of 2021.
