With that said, fans have been waiting for more details about Jurassic World 3, otherwise known as Jurassic World: Dominion, ever since it was first confirmed many years ago. Earlier this year, a five-minute prologue was released exclusively on IMAX along with screenings of F9. Fast forward to today and we finally got a chance to see why so many audiences that got to see trailer are hyped.
Travel back in time with the first Jurassic World: Dominion trailer
The original Jurassic Park trilogy appeared to be dead in the water, along with the franchise, after 2000’s Jurassic Park III posted record lows for the franchise. It wasn’t until 2015 when the sci-fi franchise got a new lease on life with the Chris Pratt-led movie that grossed $1.6 billion at the global box office. Since then, a sequel in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, was released in 2018, which grossed over $1.3 billion, with a highly anticipated third follow-up featuring returning characters such as Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill expected to pull in roughly the same numbers once it hits theaters in June 2022. Unfortunately, while we’ve known for years that a third Jurassic World was coming, there has been very few details released about the third installment - until now. The new five-minute trailer for Jurassic World: Dominion is set 65 million years in the past with footage that actually won’t be making it into the actual film. But, make no mistake, it doesn’t make the trailer any less awesome. It takes audiences through the journey of how everything started, culminating in the first mosquito used by Dr. Laura Sorkin and Dr. Henry Wu to clone the dinosaurs. With only roughly half a year left before Jurassic World: Dominion premieres, we can expect to see more trailers for the upcoming movie to drop in the next few months. In other Jurassic Park/World news, Jurassic World Evolution 2 is already available to play after being revealed earlier this year. Meanwhile, rumors suggest that Creative Assembly, the same studio behind Alien: Isolation, is working on a survival-horror Jurassic World game.
