Insomniac Games released the original Marvel’s Spider-Man game in 2018 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. The open-world, third-person, single-player, action-adventure game based on the fan-favorite Marvel Comics character, Spider-Man, was a massive hit among critics and audiences alike. It ended up setting the record for the third-best-selling PS4 game of all time with 13.2 million copies sold. After a spin-off title for the PS5 and PC ports for both games, the game is finally getting a sequel next year that features both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters. But, while Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 isn’t set to release for at least a year, Mille A’s tweet points toward a smooth development process. While rumors should not be taken as gospel truth, Millie A has established a reputation as a reliable informer on PlayStation-related issues. If they’re right, fans of the franchise will soon have an opportunity to experience the upcoming title’s gameplay. Fingers crossed, we’ll see Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 appear at the Disney and Marvel Games Showcase on the 9th. If not, Sony is believed to be sitting on an unannounced State of Play showcase for this month if not early next month. Speaking of Insomniac, the studio is also working on a separate Wolverine game for the PS5.
