However, after the studio’s official Twitter account and website confirmed that Hogwarts Legacy is set for a 2022 release, a known insider and even WarnerMedia’s CEO has quadrupled down to help ease concerns.
— Jason Kilar (@jasonkilar) January 26, 2022 More evidence comes from Jason Kilar, who went on Twitter to share news about WarnerMedia’s plans for 2022. His most recent uploads include photos of both Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy. Meanwhile, AccountNTG further revealed that the upcoming Avalanch Software-developed game will launch in September. The same user also added that Hogwarts Legacy will be featured in an upcoming State of Play event, confirming earlier rumors.
— AccountNGT (@accngt) January 29, 2022 Technically, both Kilar’s and AccountNGT’s posts only confirm what we already know. But, at the very least, the separate statements assure us all that the development of Hogwarts Legacy is progressing nicely. We can only hope that the fervent demand for the game to be released this 2022 does not end up forcing the studio to cut corners and/or subject developers to an unhealthy workplace environment, both of which are detrimental to the gameplay experience. Unfortunately, Kilar’s post spells bad news for fans of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It appears that the Rocksteady Studios’ game will take the bullet and be delayed to 2023. Then again, Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was not included in Kilar’s post as well, so maybe it’s still on track for a 2023 release. Thankfully, we’re nearly one month into 2022 already. Here’s to hoping we’ll find out more about Hogwarts Legacy soon. For now, fans can look forward to watching the third Fantastic beasts film starring Mads Mikkelsen in theaters on April 15, 2022. Harry Potter Reunion: Return to Hogwarts is also available for streaming on HBO Max right now.
