Over the past 24 hours, several sources have corroborated rumors that Sony is working on a remake of Horizon Zero Dawn. This still-unconfirmed project will reportedly feature several improvements to the lighting, textures, animations, as well as character models, and even accessibility options. The Last of Us Part 1 is easily the most controversial remake of its generation. Although most agree that the fresh coat of paint is more than welcome, audiences complained about the high asking price of the PS5 remake of the 2013 title. In addition to this, many believed that there are more games that deserve the remake treatment. But, if Sony is planning on doing the same thing to Horizon Zero Dawn, then we can assume that the numbers make enough sense for Sony to do it again, regardless of the negative feedback. If nothing else, a remake of Horizon Zero Dawn will help raise awareness for the franchise’s incoming live-action adaptation. Sony is currently setting Horizon up as its next big franchise. In an ideal world, most gamers would’ve been talking more about Horizon Forbidden West. Instead, the sequel played second fiddle to Elden Ring, which has generated Game of the Year talks for years. Still, Horizon Forbidden West should get one story-related post-launch expansion. On top of the rumored Horizon Forbidden West DLC, a PSVR 2 launch title, Horizon Call of the Mountain, is also in development.
