Halo Infinite to get a bunch of PC-exclusive features

According to 343, Halo Infinite is going to get ray-tracing, LAN party support, ranked matchmaking, and Discord integration, on the PC. The studio explains that the game was “built from the ground-up for PC”, which is good news for PC players. The part about LAN parties is especially interesting, as PC players can now team up with their buddies on the Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X. At the same time, 343 claims that Halo Infinite will integrate Discord, Steam, and Xbox Game Pass, on the PC. This way, it’s easier to find out if your friends are online. An underrated feature that 343 is adding to Halo Infinite is cross-save compatibility. This means that save files will automatically transfer between Xbox consoles and the PC, as well as vice versa. This extends to multiplayer progress as well, including customization and rank. However, for the sake of fairness, 343 is giving players a choice with multiplayer. Players can either play ranked with a controller, ranked with a mouse and keyboard or ranked with cross-play. Lastly, 343 is working together with Razer and AMD for exclusive goodies. The latter has played a huge role in implementing ray-tracing in Halo Infinite. AMD has launched the Radeon RX 6900 XT Halo Infinite Limited Edition to commemorate the game’s launch. This is AMD’s most powerful graphics card yet. Unfortunately, it is only available via giveaway. Meanwhile, the former has created several Halo-themed keyboards and mice. Naturally, the peripherals are all designed with gameplay reactive RGB lighting. If you’d like to find out if your PC is up to par to play Halo Infinite, here are the game’s minimum requirements:

Minimum:

Operating System: Windows 10 RS3 x64 Processor: AMD FX-8370 or Intel i5-4440 Memory: 8GB RAM Graphics: AMD RX 570 or Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti DirectX: Version 12 Storage: 50GB available space Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

Operating System: Windows 10 19H2 x64 Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X or Intel i7-9700K Memory: 16GB RAM Graphics: Radeon RX 5700 XT or Nvidia RTX 2070 DirectX: Version 12 Storage: 50GB available space Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system

TLDR; 343 put their money where their mouth is and lived up to their promise of building Halo Infinite from the ground up for the PC. With 343 recently releasing a single-player campaign trailer for Halo Infinite following a widely successful two-weekend test run, it’s safe to say that Halo Infinite is good to go for its release on December 8, 2021, release date.
