Marvel’s Midnight Suns was originally scheduled for a March release. However, Take-Two Interactive, Firaxis Games’s parent company, announced that the game would be delayed till October 7, 2022. In August, the company further pushed back the release date to “later this fiscal year”. To explain their decision, Firaxis released an announcement. “After discussion with the team, we’ve made the decision to move back the launch timing of Marvel’s Midnight Suns to ensure we are delivering the best possible experience for our fans. We will launch later this fiscal year on Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions following at a later date,” the announcement read. “We know fans are looking forward to playing Marvel’s Midnight Suns and we will use this extra time to make sure we are delivering the best possible experience for everyone,” it continued. Fortunately, with this announcement, fans finally have a date to look forward to. However, given the many delays that have already occurred, they might find it a bit hard to fully trust the developer, at least, until the game’s release. Meanwhile, the Firaxis Games’s lead developer revealed Midnight Suns gameplay during a Twitch live stream in September last year. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a crossover game that features several characters from across the entirety of Marvel Comics. Its slate of confirmed playable characters includes Blade, Ghost Rider, Spider-Man, Scarlet Witch, The Hunter, Iron Man, Nico Minoru, Wolverine, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, and Magik. “Set in the darker, supernatural side of the Marvel Universe, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a tactical RPG from the creators of XCOM,” the game’s description reads, “As the Hunter, a legendary demon slayer with a mysterious past, you’ll lead a team of legendary Marvel heroes as they attempt to stop the Mother of Demons from completing an ancient prophecy and summoning her evil master, Chthon.” Marvel’s Midnight Suns will release for PC, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PlayStation 5 platforms. Unfortunately, neither Marvel nor Firaxis Games have provided any definitive detail about the release date for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. In addition, Marvel made a slew of announcements on its upcoming movies and series at the event and you can read all about them right here.
