The good news is that Life is Strange: True Colors is on track to release on September 10. Post-launch content for the game is also slated to release soon after. The Wavelengths story DLC for True Colors is on track to drop on September 30. The said DLC will star Steph Gingrich, a fan-favorite character who appears in Life is Strange: Before the Storm and will reportedly play a major role in True Colors. Unfortunately, the bad news is that Deck Nine has decided to push back the release date of the Life is Strange: Remastered Collection.
Deck Nine decides to give themselves a much-needed break
Many consider the Life is Strange games as some of the best narrative-driven titles of their generation. It is one of the few game series to fully explore once-taboo plotlines and not be afraid of potential backlash. We previously included the series in our round-up of the best LGBTQ games with queer characters and narratives. With that said, the original Life is Strange games haven’t aged well. This is where the Life is Strange: Remastered Collection would have helped. The Remastered Collection was first announced at the April 2021 Square Enix Presents showcase. The bundle will add next-gen graphics upgrades to the first two Life is Strange games, as well as facial motion capture. Square Enix intended for the collection to release on September 30. However, to give the team more time to rest in between releases, the company decided to push back the release date of the Remastered Collection and has now given it an early 2022 window.
— Life is Strange (@LifeIsStrange) August 11, 2021 The COVID-19 pandemic has had a huge effect on the gaming industry. Remastered Collection isn’t the only game to be postponed and delayed this year. With that said, Square Enix and Deck Nine deserve applause for this decision. Giving the people behind the games more time to rest is a good idea. If nothing else, this is a good PR move that should endear more fans to buy the latest installment in the forward-thinking franchise.
