In total, there are 5 different Cyberpunk 2077 endings and all are as different from each other as night and day. Just how different, you may ask? Perhaps, more importantly, just how exactly do you get which endings? Scroll down below to learn more about the different Cyberpunk 2077 endings.
How Many Cyberpunk 2077 Endings Are There?
As mentioned, there are a total of 5 different Cyberpunk 2077 endings. This includes a secret ending. However, for four of these endings, one choice you make will end up determining the outcome.
How to Unlock All Cyberpunk 2077 Endings
Unlike in other games with multiple endings, getting all the Cyberpunk 2077 endings is relatively straightforward. All you need to do to get all the main endings is to complete all the Side Jobs (or, at least, as many as possible). This includes finishing the Panam arc, if possible, as well as being nice to Johnny during a certain part while you are doing Side Jobs with Rogue. Basically, if you have completed all the game that has to offer before the “Nocturne OP55N1” mission, you’ll be able to get all the Cyberpunk 2077 endings. Another thing, regardless of the ending you choose, you’ll always end up before the start of the Nocturne OP55N1 mission after playing through the game. The only difference is that you’ll be carrying with you some endgame spoils this time around.
What are the Cyberpunk 2077 Endings?
Put All to Rest
This is what many consider the “bad” ending in Cyberpunk 2077 and it can be achieved regardless of what you’ve completed in the game. Basically, when you get to the point where Johnny Silverhand will tell you “no goin’ back on this y’know”, simply choose “put all this to rest” and V will throw all of the pills off of the rooftop, effectively ending the game and V’s life. This ending has left many confused as it provides little to no closure. Even Johnny will be perplexed if you do decide to do this. We recommend doing this ending just for the novelty of it because you’ll find yourself at the receiving end of some pretty colorful words from all those you’ve helped along the way once the closing messages start to roll out.
Trust Arasaka
This ending is available to all players by default. The only requirement is that you make it to the game’s final mission. Basically, what happens here is that you’ll call Hanako and she’ll send a car to pick you up. In the meantime, you can have your fortune read by Misty, which can help unlock the last cards in the set. After the drive, you’ll rescue Hanako, and the three of you will then proceed to fly over to Arasaka Tower. She’ll then reveal that her father is now an engram and later on, the three of you (V, Hanako, and her father), will attend a board meeting where it’ll be confirmed that Yorinobu was responsible for the murder of Saburo and that the entire board has already had a hit put out on them. You’ll survive this event and Hanako will now ask you to find her brother. This will lead to a series of fights that culminate in a boss fight against the very guy who killed Johnny, Adam Smasher. After defeating Adam, you’ll get a chance to talk with Yorinobu before leaving him in the care of Hanako. You’re then taken to Mikoshi, where you’ll reunite with Johnny in Cyberspace. After a lengthy talk, you’ll go back to your body with Johnny being left with Alt. Following this ordeal, you’ll find yourself waking up somewhere in space in an Arasaka orbital station, and being asked to choose with each one having its own set of consequences:
Sign the contract and you’ll secure your soul by joining Arasaka’s pilot program. An engram of V’s mind will then be stored in Mikoshi. Refuse and you’re dead. Seriously. The game ends and you can’t continue playing the game anymore.
Ask Panam for Help
Completing all the Panam-related Side Jobs will prompt an achievement that will also signify that you’ll have a chance to access this ending. Basically, instead of Hanako, you’ll ask Panam for help and the two of you will reach Mikoshi via the Arasaka Tower together. Similarly, you can opt to have your fortune read during the initial car ride to unlock one of the last cards in the set. The plan starts in the Aldecaldo camp as you’ll be told that you’ll tunnel under Arasaka Tower with help from Dakota and Mitch. Saul will also take this time to officially anoint you as a member of the Aldecaldos, with Panam herself giving you a high-armor jacket that you get to keep post-game. After a night of celebration, the two of you will take a look at the construction site before fighting your way through the Basilisk so you can break through and reach the dig-site tunnel. Once you’re there, you’ll use the drill to tunnel into the Arasaka Tower with Panam and Saul. Starting from the lower levels, you’ll work your way up and eventually plug in Alt, who’ll help you in combat and in your goal of reaching Mikoshi. However, before you get to do that, you’ll have to fight Adam Smasher, who will proceed to take yet another life in Saul before you can get a chance to finish him off and avenge Johnny. After plugging yourself into Mikoshi, you’ll find yourself in Cyberspace once again. However, you’ll be with Johnny and Alt this time around, where you’ll be forced to make one of two choices:
Go back to Earth knowing that you won’t have that much life to live anyway Give Johnny your body while you live the rest of your life as V as you become part of Alt following Mikoshi’s destruction
The first choice will end in you leaving Night City forever with the Aldecaldos, as well as Judy if the two of you started a relationship before the game’s ultimate mission. On the other hand, the second choice will let you explore Night City as V while Johnny takes over your body, and then eventually leave Night City to seek a fresh start in life.
Let Johnny and Rogue Go
If you’re chummy with Johnny, you can have the option to let the two of Rogue and Johnny take on Arasaka. So, basically, what happens is that Johnny will take over your body as you head to the Afterlife to talk Rogue into helping you out. After gearing up, you’ll pay a visit to Nix, who will communicate with Alt for you. After this, you, Weyland, and Rogue, will ride on the AV to go to the Arasaka Tower as you watch Alt take down an Arasaka communication satellite on his own. The AV that the three of you are riding on will eventually be shot by Arasaka security, leaving you crashing straight into the boardroom. You and Rogue will then proceed to infiltrate the tower, although we recommend looking for Weyland just for some extra help. Using your anti-gravity boots, you’ll then fly from one floor to another and eventually find your way to where you can get Alt inside the system. Then, you’ll have to fight Adam Smasher to get to Mikoshi. However, just like on other endings, there is a casualty here, and this time around, it’s Rogue. Once you’ve defeated Adam, pick up Rogue’s gun and plug yourself into Mikoshi. Reuniting with V will take you to the last decision that you’ll ever make in the game:
Give Johnny full control of your body as you live on as V with part of your construct being used as part of Alt Go back to being V once again knowing that your time is running out
Choosing the first option will take you back to Earth and let you finish out several mini-quests. However, this will still ultimately lead to Johnny leaving Night City. On the other hand, going the other way will lead to you still leaving Night City anyway.
Secret Ending
A secret ending that a couple of gamers have been able to unlock is only available if you have completed most if not all of the Side Jobs involving Rogue and Panam, as well as have a high relationship percentage with Johnny. Some say that it’s supposed to be 70% for the option to appear, but there’ve been rumors that you can achieve this ending with a lower relationship percentage. Anyway, to unlock this secret ending, you need to wait around on the rooftop for a couple of minutes before storming Arasaka Tower. Eventually, Johnny will give you another option, and that is to attack the Arasaka Tower solo so that nobody else gets hurt. Obviously, this is the path with the most resistance, and by far the most difficult. With that said, if you do decide to see it through, you’ll be prompted with two choices at the end: live the rest of your short life or give Johnny control of your body. Making these choices will result in the events playing out similarly to the other endings we’ve already mentioned. V will still also go out in space and head to the Crystal Palace. However, because you went solo, no one else will have to sacrifice their lives during the game’s final mission.
