First spotted by Gematsu, the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee rated the forthcoming title for the previously announced PC as well as the next-gen consoles, PS5 and the XSX. It suggests that the title will not only be available on PC but also on the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, despite the fact that Sega has only announced the title for PC. If this turns out to be true, it will bring no small measure of joy to fans of the series. The first Company of Heroes title was published by THQ in 2006. However, by the time the second title would be published in 2013, Sega had bought the development studio Relic Entertainment alongside the Company of Heroes IP. The first and second titles were published exclusively on PC. The series got its start on the PC and Mac OS X. If the port revelations are true, Company of Heroes 3 will be the first game in the franchise to see a console release. Company of Heroes 3 is set in Italy and North Africa during World War II, with players participating in the invasion of Italy as well as the North African campaign. It’s available in both single and multiplayer modes. The title was originally scheduled for a November 17, 2022 release. However, Sega pushed back its release date because the developer “required some additional time to work on overall improvement, balancing, and fine-tuning of Company of Heroes 3 to ensure they’ll meet player expectations and deliver the deepest tactical experience in the series yet.” The game’s overview on Steam reads, “The legendary strategy franchise is back! Company of Heroes 3 is the ultimate package of action, tactics and strategy. Take charge in the heat of real-time battle, then command as a General guiding the overall campaign where every decision matters.” The overview goes on to state that there are “four unique factions and all new international Battlegroups.” The game will have ground, air, and naval forces all of which will be firmly within the command of the player. Company of Heroes 3 is scheduled for a February 23, 2023 release. Fans can pre-order the title on Steam with the Standard Edition available for $59.99 while the Digital Premium Edition is available for $79.99. Speaking of, Sega is following up its initial success with the Sonic the Hedgehog live-action films with more adaptations. The video game company has partnered with Picturestart to develop movie adaptations of its Comix Zone and Space Channel 5 games. The gaming giant also recently confirmed it has three Yakuza games in development and they will arrive over the next two years. Furthermore, Netflix released the first full trailer of its Sonic Prime animation co-produced by Sega.
