Activision confirms the earlier PlayStation Store Leak

The past 24 hours have been quite eventful for Call of Duty: Vanguard. After it became common knowledge that Activision would reveal Vanguard this August, the PlayStation Store confirmed exactly when the reveal would happen before its official announcement. Activision later went ahead and confirmed that it was going to reveal Vanguard on August 19 with an event inside Call of Duty: Warzone. With that said, another report claims that information about the alpha and beta tests for the game, as well as the launch date of Vanguard and that of its first season will also be revealed soon. According to the aforementioned report, Activision plans on holding a PlayStation-exclusive alpha test for Vanguard from August 27 to August 29. Then, a PlayStation-exclusive open beta will run from September 10 to 12. Finally, Activision reportedly has a completely open beta for Vanguard scheduled from September 16 to 20. The report also claims that Activision is aiming for a November 5 launch for Vanguard, with its first season scheduled on November 23. However, the same source claims that the information is still subject to change. None of this should come off as a surprise. It’s not unusual for developers to hold multiple early testing periods. 343 Industries recently concluded its own technical preview for Halo Infinite. At the same time, Electronic Arts just kicked off its first technical preview for Battlefield 2042. Even the exclusivity of the testing periods on the PlayStation is not entirely surprising. Activision also held exclusive early tests on the PlayStation for 2020’s Black Ops Cold War. Here’s hoping that Activision reveals substantially more information about Vanguard on August 19. In particular, we’d love to hear more about the rumored mini battle royale maps.
