Is Spyro 4 Currently in Development?
Let’s talk about it WATCH —–> https://t.co/MedkG8oDWz pic.twitter.com/6iF3pjDyW9 — Canadian Guy Eh (@Canadianguyehh) April 16, 2021 In a recent video uploaded by Canadian Guy Eh, he claims that through research on several job openings, and by using the “process of elimination”, he’s found out that Activision is currently working on a new Spyro title and Activision surprisingly didn’t bring back Toys for Bob to work on the rumored title. Instead, Activision seems intent on giving one of their subsidiaries, Beenox, a chance. Beenox previously provided supporting work for Activision’s more well-known franchises like the Call of Duty games and Skylanders. Most recently, Beenox helped out with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, and Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Now, going back to Canadian Guy Eh, he claims that his most recent findings include Beenox increasing its team size. On the other hand, Toys for Bob seems to have done the exact opposite in recent months. In addition to this, Vicarious Visions, the developers of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, is working closely with Blizzard on Diablo 2: Resurrected. With that said, Canadian Guy Eh claims that all signs point to Beenox working on Spyro 4. He even goes as far as to add that Benox had already started working on Spyro 4 since last year. This would make a late 2021 or early 2022 release date possible. If either release window is true, Activision might even reveal Spyro 4 at E3 2021.
Are There Other Leaks Pointing to a Spyro 4 Game?

(@SpyroUniverse) December 7, 2020 Normally, fan speculation like this wouldn’t carry a lot of weight. However, the Canadian Guy Eh’s video isn’t the only one talking about the next Spyro game. One of the most damning pieces of evidence that proves Spyro 4 is in the work lies in a Crash Bandicoot 4 artbook. This piece of official art even goes as far as to reference Spyro himself with the words “Spyro 4” underneath. There have also been numerous leaks regarding Spyro 4 popping up on 4chan in recent months.
What’s Next for the Spyro Franchise?
At this point, it’s important to take note that there no concrete proof of Spyro 4 being in development exists. So, make sure to take these rumors, leaks, and speculations as exactly what they are. But, at the same time, we wouldn’t be surprised if Activision decides to give Beenox a shot at working on a new Spyro game. The sales numbers of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time from launch through until now help prove that there’s a demand for new takes on classic platformers. Given how the Spyro games are just as iconic and beloved as the Crash Bandicoot titles, Activision could do a whole lot worse than to give one of their longest-tenured and reliable subsidiaries a shot at its biggest AAA game in a while.
