Announced in February 2021, Anthem NEXT was to be a reworked version of the original Anthem - a much-hyped and highly anticipated action RPG released by EA in February 2019. However, it declined quickly and is considered a massive failure - both in terms of critical reviews, sales and otherwise. Despite pledging to reinvent the game in a way more consistent with the original vision of the project, BioWare says it ran into problems caused by the Covid-19 pandemic throughout the process. Dailey apologized to Anthem fans and assured them that BioWare is still working on new versions of Mass Effect and Dragon Age, as well as new updates for the online role-playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic. The current Anthem servers will be kept online, but the game will no longer receive updates. The game is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC
