Unlike the Hearthstone and Diablo Immortal announcements, Blizzard’s “all-new mobile Warcraft” game came with zero fanfare. Instead, Blizzard hid the reveal in the company’s latest fiscal report, where the publishing giant confirmed that it was working on “substantial new content” for a mobile Warcraft game. Unfortunately, the official news came with little additional information, so it appears that we’ll have to wait for a while to find out what it is. In the meantime, users have begun speculating about the nature of the mobile Warcraft game. Some believe that it’s a real-time strategy game similar to the older Warcraft titles. Meanwhile, others think that it’s a mobile MMO version of World of Warcraft. At the end of the day, only Activision Blizzard knows what the mobile Warcraft game is going to be. After the public backlash the company received back at BlizzCon 2018 when it first unveiled Diablo Immortal, audiences aren’t likely to hear about the Warcraft game for mobile platforms anytime soon. But, if it’s any consolation, this does suggest that Blizzard has learned its lessons. We can only hope that it can continue improving under new management. Speaking of new management, Blizzard has made headlines several times in the past few weeks after the Microsoft acquisition. Case in point, in late January, Blizzard announced that it was working on a new survival IP. Just a few days later, a trusted insider stepped forward to confirm that Blizzard was sitting on at least one more secret project. Finally, Blizzard just made strides to ban boosting in World of Warcraft after several years of complaints from disgruntled and frustrated fans.
