Game developer Tribute Games, in conjunction with publisher Dotemu, recently just announced that they’re working on a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game. The upcoming game will be titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge and judging by the description, it sounds every bit like the dream TMNT game for 90s kids who grew up playing the classic TMNT games in arcades. Scroll down below to know more about the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game.
Is There a Trailer for the New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Game Available?
Yes. There is. In fact, the trailer was the highlight of Dotemu’s announcement. The video was clearly designed to send the nostalgia factor of the game through the proverbial roof. It kicked things off with a throwback to the original TMNT cartoon show that aired in the late 80s. Then, finally, it showcased the actual gameplay of the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle game.
What Is The Gameplay and Story of the New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Game?
Gameplay-wise, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a brawler made from the same mold as the classic titles that drained kids of their allowances back in the 1980s and 1990s. It even has the same art style. According to the developers, the game will let up to four players play together in a co-op beat-’em-up experience. However, it shouldn’t be an exact copy of the TMNT games of the past. Case in point, the gameplay should be better suited for gaming at home. Judging from what we’ve seen via the debut trailer, the four brothers will take on classic TMNT enemies, including but not limited to, Bebop and Rocksteady, as well as members of the Foot Clan. The trailer also teased the appearance of potential allies. This includes, among others, April O’Neil and the all-knowing Master Splinter.
Who Are The Developers of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Game?
Dotemu is a video game development and publishing company that specializes in re-releasing retro titles for modern consoles. They claim that “retro” is their motto. They are the same people behind Streets of Rage 4, Windjammers 2, and Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap. All were well-received revivals of other classic arcade-style titles. With that said, Dotemu won’t be alone. They brought on Tribute Games with them, who worked on indie side-scrollers, Panzer Paladin and Mercenary Kings.
When Is The New Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Game Going to Release?
Dotemu has announced that the new TMNT game will release for the PC, as well as other consoles. However, they failed to provide a proper release date for the game. But, if it’s any consolation, with the game looking pretty much finished already, we shouldn’t have to wait too long to get your hands on this potential classic title.
